University of Miami Advantage

What Graduates Are Saying

MAIA is not only an opportunity for students to earn their masters and get a great education, but also continue their career, because not every school is supportive of that. I’ve been doing work in animal welfare and human rights my whole life, and MAIA gave me the advantage of merging that with a successful internship.
Tuana Yacizi
MA '22, Current law student
I remember my MAIA professors telling me that if my focus was helping the earth and helping people, they were going to empower me to do that. We were told that we weren’t just here just to get a degree; we were here to get an education in life. We got an experience of a lifetime as students.”
Benjamin King
MA/Security Certificate ‘21, Co-founder and Chief Administrative Officer, Precision Ecology

What first attracted me to enroll in MAIA was the high caliber of professors the program has to offer. I landed my first internship at SouthCom because of my MAIA professors and it was a great fit for me.
Andrea Fuentes

I am fortunate to have received an extraordinary education in an inspiring environment at the University of Miami. The support of the professors and career development staff helped me expand my perspectives and introduced me to a wide range of inspiring people. Most importantly, UM supported my passion to pursue entrepreneurial projects in global public health. UM prepared me to be successful in my endeavors.

Many of my MAIA peers are now good friends, as well as amazing people working towards building a better world in numerous fields, including academics, non-profits, social good for-profits, and government work, both domestic and international. There is a wealth of knowledge at UM, and fantastic human and technological resources at your disposal.
Jamie Everett
MA ‘16, Director of Operations, Refugee Assistance Alliance
I discovered MAIA as I researched top programs for students wanting to work with large, international organizations. I specialized in organizational management & global security during my time in the program and both have provided unique perspectives as I now help my clients walk through disruptive organizational change and tackle the ever-evolving opportunities & challenges that new technologies bring from a security perspective.
